2025- Emergency Housing Support-Southeast, MI
This year, Better Together Foundation was honored to assist a family in Southeast Michigan facing an unimaginable challenge. Their child was undergoing treatment for a severe congenital heart defect at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, while rising healthcare costs caused them to lose permanent housing. With a long waitlist for shelters and nowhere to go, the family was temporarily staying with friends while searching for options.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors, Better Together Foundation provided nearly one month of temporary housing, ensuring their medically complex child remained close to the hospital and their other children stayed near their school. This project reflects our commitment to the Better Homes pillar, offering stability and dignity during times of crisis.
2025- Allegheny County Holiday Project-Pittsburgh, PA
This holiday season, Better Together Foundation proudly partnered with the Allegheny County Holiday Project, purchasing gifts for 15 children ages 1–17 served by the Department of Human Services.
A special thank you to Taylor O’Brien and Gina O’Brien, who shopped for and delivered these gifts to the donation center, helping make the holidays brighter for local families. The Holiday Project ensures that children and youth in vulnerable situations experience the joy of the season, and we are honored to contribute to this mission.
2025- Thanksgiving Meals-Pittsburgh, PA
In November, Better Together Foundation partnered with Light of Life Mission in Pittsburgh to provide 160 Thanksgiving meals to individuals and families in need throughout the Pittsburgh region. The holiday season can be a challenging time for many, and this initiative reflects our commitment to supporting basic needs and fostering community care during critical moments.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we were able to ensure that more families experienced the warmth and tradition of a holiday meal. This project exemplifies the spirit of Be Better, Together—coming together to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most.
2025- Jackson Foster Care-Jackson, MI
This holiday season, Better Together Foundation partnered with the Jackson, MI Foster Care System and Jackson High School to sponsor 12 deserving children in the Jackson area. Through this collaboration, we provided essential basic needs along with a few special wishlist items—bringing comfort, joy, and hope to children who might otherwise have gone without.
A special thank you to Abbey Sprecher for handling the holiday shopping and gift delivery for these children. Focusing on giving back during the holidays reminds us what this season is truly about: showing care, building hope, and strengthening our community.
Thank you to everyone who played a role in making this possible.
2025- Lighthouse Foundation Partnership-Valencia, PA
As 2025 came to a close, Better Together Foundation partnered with The Lighthouse Foundation in Valencia, PA as a Gold Bell Sponsor for their Christmas Toy Shoppe Program. At this sponsorship level, we contributed $1,000 toward Christmas gifts for children in need within our community.
This incredible program provided Christmas morning gifts for more than 500 children in 2024, and we were honored to help continue that tradition of joy and generosity.
This project reflects the heart of our mission—bringing hope and comfort to families during the holiday season. We are deeply grateful to our donors for making these moments possible.
2024- Mighty Joe Jaber-Saline, MI
In November 2024, we heard the story of Jes from Saline Michigan. Her son was courageously known in the community as "Mighty Moe". Moe was born with cerebral palsy and dystonia associated with abnormal muscle tone. Mighty Moe fought this degenerative disease with his mother by his side his entire life and tragically lost that battle in May of 2021 at 11 years old. The community rallied around Mighty Moe and ran Go Fund Me's and supported him throughout this fight. His journey was even featured in an inspiring news story on local TV. The devastating truth of these tragic stories are that the financial strain that these situations can have on families last for years to come. It came to our attention that Jes was struggling to pay the final installment for the headstone for Mighty Moe's gravesite and the supplier was threatening to repossess the headstone. We were so lucky to hear Mighty Moe and Jes's story when we did. Thanks to all of your continued support we were able to step in and finance the remaining payment installment so that Jes can continue to visit Moe and celebrate his life at his final resting place.
2024- Leading Families Home Partnership-Toledo, OH
Leading Families Home supports long-term independence by providing emergency family shelter, effective housing, economic and behavioral health stabilization, education, and employment services.
We were able to partner with Leading Families for a $1,000 donation to sponsor emergency stay for a single woman facing homelessness as they sought permanent housing. This stay includes up to two months of room and board while Leading Families staff assist and find more permanent housing.
2024- Alpha House Partnership-Washtenaw County, MI
Our Holiday Giving projects wrapped up with a partnership with Alpha House, Interfaith Hospitality Network of Washtenaw County Michigan. Alpha House is dedicated to support families enduring homelessness. This Holiday season we were able to purchase $500 in Meijer Gift Cards that will support 20 families and their basic needs this holiday season. Board member Abbey Sprecher of Saline, Michigan served as a liaison to Alpha House and hit the local Meijer to make this all happen.
2024- Allegheny County Holiday Project
Our next project teamed up with the Allegheny County (Pittsburgh) Department of Human Services (DHS) and their Holiday Project. DHS' Holiday Project provides meaningful holiday gifts to children in families receiving DHS services related to child maltreatment and homelessness. Recipients of these gifts range from newborns to young adults and benefit ~4,000 kids every holiday season. This holiday season we were able to purchase gifts directly towards this initiative.
